The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Jordan, Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairy, attended a lecture organized by the late Samir Al-Rifai Chair for Jordanian Studies at Yarmouk University, as part of the activities of Irbid, the capital of Arab culture for the year 2022. The title is “Saudi-Jordanian Relations, Historical and Strategic.”
Al-Sudairy affirmed, in the presence of the former Jordanian Prime Minister, Dr. Abdul Raouf Al-Rawabdeh, that after two years of the Corona virus pandemic, which forced the whole world to freeze cultural practices rooted in culture, civilization and social action, and as the Arab intellectual awaits the return of the pulse to the cultural and artistic movement, Irbid Governorate is preparing to broadcast The spirit is once again in the cultural, artistic and literary pulse through many events, after being chosen as the capital of Arab culture for 2022, by the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO); To carry the banner of culture and art in the Arab region for a whole year, until it landed; Another Arab city to receive the banner of culture again next year.
Al-Sudairy added, “The city of Irbid, or the chrysanthemum, the bride of the north, as Jordanians call it today, is a source of hope and life, on the verge of the celebration of Irbid, the capital of Arab culture this year, as it prepares to wear its beautiful Arab cultural wedding dress. And its intellectuals, its artists and plastic artists, its playwrights and musicians, poets and writers have always sung about it and writers wrote about it, and vocalists and singers sang for it and with it, about its old chat rooms, its antique markets, and its inspiring atmosphere.
Al-Sudairy added that the relations between the two kingdoms, the two royal families and the two brotherly peoples are rooted and authentic, since the era of the founders of the two countries, His Majesty King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, and his brother, His Majesty King Abdullah I – may God have mercy on them and reward them for their countries and peoples and the Arab and Islamic nations – until the reign of my master Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his brother, His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein – may God preserve them.
He added: There is no doubt that the relations between the two brotherly Saudi and Jordanian peoples confirm that cultural communication between peoples and popular and cultural diplomacy, through various cultural and social activities, is the best way to create more bonds of love and peace, and also plays an important and influential role in building peoples and their cohesion and in The life of nations and the consolidation of moral, human, artistic and aesthetic values between different peoples, let alone the two brotherly peoples of Saudi Arabia and Jordan, who are in fact identical in everything.
Al-Sudairy continued, “As he does not hide from you, In Saudi Arabia, the cultural movement has occupied an advanced cultural position among the countries of the world, due to the qualitative shift experienced by the local cultural scene, which represents one of the most important manifestations of the great developmental and civilizational transformation witnessed by the Kingdom since the launch of its ambitious vision 2030, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz And His Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God preserve them – who pay great attention, care, attention, support and encouragement to the cultural issue.
Ambassador Al-Sudairy pointed out that Saudi-Jordanian relations are stronger than ever, and represent a distinguished episode and a model for joint Arab action, which is confirmed by the state of permanent coordination and continuous consultation between the two brotherly countries, and the unity of the position towards various Arab, regional and global issues.
For his part, the President of Yarmouk University, Dr. Islam Massad, explained that the Saudi-Jordanian relations have been characterized by depth, firmness and stability since the beginning of history. The relations between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which are led by His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – have taken a distinct and well-established path between the two leaderships and governments, which has resulted in a permanent consensus between Common interests of the two sister kingdoms.
He pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia did not hesitate to open its doors to distinguished Jordanian competencies, including doctors, teachers, economists, businessmen and professions, and the contributions of the Saudi Fund for Development in supporting many projects in Jordan had a great impact, as Saudi Arabia is the third largest country in terms of investment volume in Jordan. .
At the end of the lecture, which was attended by a number of members of the university’s board of trustees, the university’s two vice presidents, a number of Irbid governorate deputies, former and current university presidents of the universities in the north, a number of deans of faculties and faculty members at the university, official and popular bodies in the governorate, and a crowd of Jordanian and Saudi students Students at the university, and a number of university and embassy officials, held an extensive dialogue in which the ambassador answered questions and interventions from the audience about the future and strength of Jordanian-Saudi relations.
During his visit to the university, the ambassador, accompanied by the president of the university and a number of officials, toured the university campus, where he visited the Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II building (classroom complex), one of the projects implemented with funding from the Saudi Fund for Development. He also visited the Jordanian Heritage Museum at the university, the headquarters of the university. During the tour, the ambassador praised the efforts made by Yarmouk University to provide quality and distinguished education for Jordanian and Arab students, praising the university’s keenness to inculcate high values and morals among its students of different nationalities.
In turn, Massad stressed that Yarmouk is distinguished by its keenness to host a group of chairs and scientific centers that aim to localize sober scientific research within the university, in a way that contributes to community service and building our national and Arab institutions according to modern scientific foundations.
