More than 18,000 families benefited from the services of the family briefing and guidance centers established by the Ministry of Family, Women, Childhood and the Elderly in the states of Ariana, Beja and Jendouba until the end of 2021, according to a statement published by the ministry, today, Sunday, on its Facebook page.
The creation of these centers comes within the framework of the Family Guidance and Guidance Program, as these institutions work to inform, accompany and pledge families, and are run within the framework of a partnership agreement and a contract of objectives between the Ministry and the Tunisian Association for Management and Social Balance.
The interventions of the family briefing and guidance centers included many areas, the most important of which is the field of psychological guidance and counseling, which is provided by psychologists, according to the request and desire of those arriving at the center and according to the requirements of their psychological conditions. In this context, approximately 4350 beneficiaries from family members were pledged.
In the field of legal guidance and counseling, 821 legal consultations and follow-ups were provided until the year 2021, and these institutions also provide family mediation services, as 511 mediation sessions were secured until the year 2021.
In the context of promoting the economic empowerment of families, the Family Briefing and Guidance Centers organize training and training courses in various specializations such as distillation of herbal plants, the jewelry industry, the Qaffa and Markoum industry, and the confectionery industry, for the benefit of women and youth, taking into account their different educational and social levels, in addition to training courses in the field of managing Small enterprises, and about 2036 beneficiaries have benefited from these courses.
These centers also contribute to the social empowerment of families by providing awareness and educational campaigns to reduce the social problems faced by the family in various fields in coordination with other concerned structures. These campaigns targeted nearly 5,500 families.
Until 2021, the Family Guidance and Guidance Centers organized awareness and sensitization sessions for 4,865 beneficiaries, both in person and from a distance, and focused mainly on suicide prevention, terrorism and extremism, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, drugs and addiction, the dangers of cyberspace, parenting education and intergenerational communication. Prevention of sexual violence against children and its psychological and social effects, and the repercussions of the Corona pandemic on families.
These centers will continue to provide their services for the benefit of various family members within the framework of partnership agreements, contracts of objectives and annual executive programs for the period (2022-2025) with public funding of 900,000 dinars, in addition to the self-contributions of the Tunisian Association for Disposition and Social Balance, estimated at about 320,000 dinars.
In the context of developing its communication strategy to further introduce the services of the family briefing and guidance centers, the Ministry is preparing to launch an interactive electronic platform through which families are registered and proposals are submitted in order to develop the services provided to these institutions, and this platform will be used as a database that includes all statistics and indicators related to these centers.
The Family Briefing and Guidance Centers will organize exhibitions for productive families, especially for those benefiting from training courses in them, or families whose benefit has been intervened to launch special projects.
