newspaper revealedLa Gazzetta dello SportOn Thursday, May 19, the Italian club announced the list of the 5 most paid clubs in Europe during the current season 2022/2021.
The famous newspaper said that the five clubs collectively pay salaries to their players amounting to about one billion and 421 million euros annually in order to compete for local and European titles.
In this report, we show you a list of the 5 most European clubs spending on players’ salaries, as follows:
1- Paris Saint-Germain, France
Paris Saint-Germain is in the lead, with a total salary of 470 million euros, with many big stars, led by Argentine Lionel Messi, French Kylian Mbappe and Brazilian Neymar.
In light of this high salary ceiling, it can be said that the Paris Saint-Germain season was not satisfactory enough, with the French club failing to achieve the dream of winning the Champions League for the first time in its history, and content with winning the French League title.
2- Real Madrid, Spain
Real Madrid came in second place in the list of the most paid clubs this season, with a total financial value of about 401 million euros.
Real Madrid’s season seems perfect, with the Royal Club winning the Spanish League title this season, in addition to qualifying for the Champions League final, awaiting its decisive confrontation with Liverpool in the final on Saturday (May 28) in the French capital, Paris.
3- Manchester City, England
Manchester City, the English club, ranked third in the list of the highest paid clubs this season, with a financial value of 258 million euros.
Despite this huge amount of money, Manchester City was eliminated from the semi-finals of the Champions League, but it is a step away from winning the English Premier League title this season.
4- Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich came in fourth place in the list of the most European clubs paying annual wages, with a total value of about 192 million euros.
Bayern Munich is living in an unstable era with its young coach, Julian Nagelsmann, amid expectations of the departure of a number of its stars, led by Polish Robert Lewandowski, after the disastrous exit from the Champions League against Villarreal, and contentment with winning the German League title this season.
5- AC Milan
AC Milan is ranked fifth in the list of the most paid European clubs, with a total value of about 100 million euros.
Milan needs to win in the last round against Sassuolo on Sunday (May 22) to secure the Italian League title this season, a title that has been absent from its coffers for years. The current season witnessed the return of the team to the Champions League, led by the veteran Swedish Zlatan Ibrahimovic, after a long absence.
