Will Zamalek benefit from the decision to complete the league with its players whose contracts have expired? Arab News

Books – Omar Qura:

A new clarification announced by the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association regarding the future of players whose contracts with their clubs expire at the end of the current season, after setting the date for the end of the Egyptian Premier League.

The Egyptian Football Association had announced the end of the competitions for the current edition of the Egyptian League 2021/2022 on August 30th.

According to what was announced by Amer Hussein, head of the competitions committee of the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association, any player whose contract expires at the end of the season will remain with his team until the end of the league, and he will not be able to leave until after the season ends.

Hussein said in statements on Mega FM radio: “We sent a letter to the Egyptian Football Association to notify the International Federation of the date of the end of the season in Egypt.”

He added: “The player whose contract with his club stipulates that he continue until the end of the season will not be able to leave the team before the end of the league at the end of August,” explaining: “Whoever has a contract that ends at the end of the season will continue with the team until the end of the season, unless there is an agreement between The player and the club have to leave at a specific time.”

Zamalek is facing a crisis related to the possibility of the contracts of 8 players in the team ending at the end of the 2021-2022 season, to exacerbate that problem after extending the season until the end of next August.

There is a possibility that Zamalek will play a large number of second-round matches in the Egyptian League this season without its players, whose contracts expire on June 30, after Mortada Mansour, the club’s president, announced earlier their departure, in the event that their contracts were not renewed or the season was completed with the team.

After June 30, Zamalek will play 11 league matches from the 24th round to the last 34th round, including the Pyramids match on August 1 in the 28th round, in addition to the final match of the Egypt Cup scheduled for July 21 if it beat Aswan in the semi-finals.

Zamalek will play the semi-finals of the Egypt Cup last season on May 23 against Aswan at the Arab Contractors Stadium, while the price of the cup final for the current season will play on June 13 against the Interior at Cairo Stadium.

These eight players are: Mohamed Abu Jabal, Tariq Hamed, Ashraf Bencharki, Mohamed Onajem, Razak Cissé, Omar Al-Saeed, Hazem Emam and Mohamed Ashraf “Ruqa”.

Zamalek had announced in an official statement that it did not want to renew the quintet, Ashraf Bencharki, Mohamed Onajem, Tariq Hamed, Mohamed Abu Jabal and Omar Al-Saeed, while the position of the remaining eight players was not resolved.

And according to the regulations of the International Football Association “FIFA”, this matter makes any of the eight players previously mentioned in his hand, whether he decides to stay with the team after extending the season from the Football Association to complete the league championship, or to leave if he wants to move to any other club.

Which could portend a clash between players whose contracts with their clubs expire if they stick to leaving after June 30.

And if the player decides to complete the season with his club, in this case, his chances of moving to another club outside Egypt will be reduced this summer if he decides to complete the league with Zamalek, and he will wait, in the event of not renewing his contract, until the winter transfer window opens next January to sign for another club.
