The Minister of Energy inaugurates GE's Center of Excellence in Reducing Carbon Emissions in the Middle East and North Africa

The Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, inaugurated today the General Electric Company’s Center of Excellence in reducing carbon emissions in the Middle East and North Africa region. The Minister of Energy sponsored the company’s celebration on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the launch of the work of the Industrial and Energy Technologies Complex in Dammam, and more than five years since the establishment of “General Electric Saudi Arabia for Advanced Turbines”; The joint venture between the Saudi Arabian Industrial Investments Company “Dossur” and the General Electric Company. His Highness also sponsored the company’s signing of major memoranda of understanding, as part of a package of initiatives; In support of the strategic objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and its endeavors to achieve zero neutrality in 2060.

General Electric has been supporting the development of the energy sector infrastructure in the Kingdom for more than 90 years, and established, more than ten years ago, the Industrial and Energy Technology Park in Dammam, in line with the Kingdom’s ambitious growth plans.

The launch of GE’s Center of Excellence in Decarbonization in the Middle East and North Africa, along with a set of initiatives launched today, is an extension of a series of efforts undertaken by the company in the Kingdom, and supports its cooperation with its partners and customers to accelerate the transformation of the energy sector in the Kingdom towards a more model. Sustainability and reliability, while maintaining an acceptable and economically viable cost, according to a model that meets the requirements of the future, and keenness to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of the sector, and then launch them from the Kingdom to the world.

The list of initiatives announced by General Electric during the forum included; The signing of a number of memoranda of understanding with Saudi Aramco, the Saudi Electricity Company, and Dussur, in addition to cooperation in the fields of research and development with the Saudi Electricity Company, and General Electric announced at the forum that it had won a contract from Samsung C&T » To supply gas turbines.

The forum witnessed the honoring of Saudi competencies working in the Industrial and Energy Technologies Complex in Dammam; For the exceptional achievements they have achieved in their work, in addition to honoring the most prominent suppliers and partners in the Kingdom, who have excelled in the areas of safety, quality, accuracy in providing service, and maintaining the principles of competitiveness, in a challenging work environment, in addition to honoring the distinguished among them in establishing a culture of continuous development .

General Electric’s contributions to the Saudi energy sector include the General Electric Saudi Advanced Turbines Company, which manufactures heavy-duty gas turbines and their components, and supports efforts to localize the industrial sector in the Kingdom, and General Electric’s Center for Excellence in Decarbonization in the Middle East and North Africa, which was launched at the Forum.
