Al-Ahly’s administration decided today to file an urgent complaint with the International Sports Court, requesting the cancellation of the decision of the Confederation of African Football “C” to hold the final of the African Champions League in the same stadium for the second year in a row, and the failure to provide justice and equal opportunities.

CAF had previously announced the holding of the CAF Champions League final between Al-Ahly and Moroccan Wydad Casablanca on the Mohammed V compound in Casablanca, Morocco, on May 30.

And the Al-Ahly administration had decided, after an emergency meeting, to play the final on any stadium within the continent, based on the value of the club and its history, which does not recognize distance or withdrawal, with resorting to the International Sports Court, whatever the results.

The council formed a crisis management committee headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the club’s president, along with Mustafa Murad Fahmy, vice president of the ball company, Hussam Ghaly, a member of the club’s board of directors, Saad Shalaby, the club’s CEO, and Amr Shaheen, CEO of the ball company, unlike what you see as the personalities joining it.

Masrawy’s correspondent learned that for the first time, Al-Ahly did not rely on his Swiss lawyer, Monterrey, in foreign cases, whether with the International Football Association “FIFA” or the Sports Court.

A source said, in exclusive statements to Masrawy, that there is a legal office specialized in these types of cases, with which an agreement was actually reached, and he received all the papers and studied them over the past few days, and today he will file an urgent complaint with the International Sports Court.

The source, who declined to be identified, added: “The complaint file submitted by Al-Ahly includes the decision of the CAF Executive Office to hold the Champions League final from one match on a neutral stadium, which was issued in 2019, along with sufficient correspondence to the Egyptian Football Association and vice versa, and a sufficient announcement date to host the federation. Moroccan for the final, after the clarity of vision on the outskirts of the golden square and its appearance near the qualification of certain teams to the final, which violates the principle of equal opportunities, justice and impartiality.

CAF had announced the date and place of the final after the end of the first leg of the semi-finals, which saw Al-Ahly win (4-0) over ES Setif of Algeria, and Wydad beat Petro Atletico of Angola (3-1).

The source explained that the complaint will also include the possibility of granting “K” the right to hold the Champions League final for the same stadium for the third year in a row, as it could have been held in 2020 in the Mohamed V compound if Wydad and Raja qualified before they lost to Al-Ahly and Zamalek, so that the match would be held at that time in Cairo, then The 2021 final was held in Casablanca between Al-Ahly and Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa.

He stressed that there is a complete file prepared by Amr Shaheen, CEO of the football company, which was included in the details and papers of the complaint after it was presented at the joint meeting of the Board of Directors and the Al-Ahly Football Company yesterday, and it includes all the crises and problems that the club has faced in recent years and with specific facts, including arbitration injustice In addition to the conflict in the dates that occurred in the last edition of the Club World Cup in the Emirates with the date of the African Nations Championship in Cameroon, which deprived the “Red Genie” of some of its players in the World Cup, as well as the inclusion of the final date of the African Champions League at the time of the international agenda for the teams, which begins on the day May 30th.
