The head of the Sfax International Fair Association, Abdellatif Zayani, said during a press conference held today, Thursday, to shed light on this economic event, that the organization of the Mediterranean Salon of Agriculture and Food Industries in its new version comes after it was not possible to hold it in 2020 due to the “Corona” pandemic, with a percentage of Renewed more than 30 percent.
He pointed out that the important foreign participations that the salon received, despite the delicate global circumstance that coincides with the national plan for the advancement of the seed sector, which is the main ingredient for achieving our food security, is an affirmation of the value of this economic event and its importance in the direction of exhibitions and specialized salons nationally and internationally.
The salon, whose opening will be supervised by the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fishing, Mahmoud Elias Hamza, is expected to represent an occasion for participants from the largest national and foreign institutions from many brotherly and friendly countries, to display their products in the fields of agricultural equipment, fertilizers, seeds, nurseries, canning, packaging, transformation and refrigeration And olive oil, honey, sweets, juices, canned food, conversion equipment, presses, and other specialties.
It will also represent an opportunity to introduce and market these various products, exchange experiences, learn about the latest experiences and innovations, search for opportunities for partnership and investment, especially among the prominent foreign presence, and organize tasting sessions and field shows for the ingredients of our animal wealth accompanied by direct contact with farmers for awareness and guidance.
This course will witness the participation of the National School of Veterinary Medicine in Sidi Thabet, and for the first time it will also be known about the participation of the Higher School of Agriculture in Muqrin by presenting projects for the conclusion of lessons and graduation research for outstanding students. This university will also be exposed to the importance of scientific research and innovation in the agricultural field.
On the other hand, the Mediterranean Salon of Agriculture and Food Industries, in its current session, will witness a refresher area extending over 1,000 square meters to organize tasting sessions and display the most important breeds of rabbits, cows, sheep and Damascene goats.
With regard to the scientific forum of the salon, which will be held on May 19 and 20 in space with the participation of a number of experts and representatives of sectoral organizations and central and regional administrations, it will raise the issue of searching for better flexibility of the food system in Tunisia in light of facing risks, crises and disasters, and innovation as one of the keys to sustainable agriculture and industry regulations. food.
