Algerian sports commentator Hafeez Draghi attacked the Confederation of African Football “CAF”, pointing to the need to “stop the corruption” that is rampant in it, and also asked all the continental federations affiliated with the African Football Authority to “move to prevent the hijacking of CAF”.

Draghi was involved in the campaign launched by some of the pioneers of the social networking site, in particular the Al-Ahly fans of Egypt, who launched the hashtag “#StopCafCorruption”, coinciding with the Confederation of African Football’s announcement of the holding of the African Champions League final match at Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.

Al-Ahly of Egypt is the last holder of two African Champions League titles

Draghi, who works on the “BN Sports” sports channel, published posts on his official personal pages on social media, in which he said: “All the continental federations are required to take action to prevent the hijacking of CAF…Stop the corruption of CAF!”

The Algerian commentator attached a picture of the CAF symbol next to it with some dollars, in reference to financial corruption and profiteering from behind the positions of its employees.

Al-Ahly of Egypt and Wydad Casablanca of Morocco put their feet in the final of the continental championship, after the first victory in the semi-final first leg over Algeria’s ES Setif 4-0, and the victory of the second at the Angolan Petro Atlético Stadium 1-3 last week, which means that they are close to entering the final match that will be held On the 30th of May this year.

The Egyptian Al-Ahly administration had asked the African Union “officially” to hold the final match of the African Champions League on a neutral stadium, in application of the principle of justice and equality between all teams qualified for the golden square.

But the Confederation of African Football announced, on Tuesday, May 10, in an official statement, that the final match of the African Champions League will be held at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, noting that only Morocco and Senegal submitted a request to host the match, before the Senegalese federation withdrew its request. Which was considered by the Al-Ahly fans and the management of his club as not neutral.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Al-Ahly Club, Mahmoud Al-Khatib, called for an emergency meeting to be held on Sunday, May 15, to consider the decision taken by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to hold the final match of the African Champions League in a non-neutral stadium, as he put it.

The date of the meeting was set on this date, as it comes the day after the two second leg matches of the semi-finals of the African Champions League, to get to know the parties to the final match officially.

Al-Khatib assigned the club’s legal affairs to study the file completely in accordance with the regulations of the International and African Football Associations, and to submit a report to the board of directors at the aforementioned meeting, in preparation for taking decisions that preserve the club’s technical and moral rights, according to what was reported by the official Al-Ahly club website.
