The three-year development plan project for the period 2023-2025 in the state of Manouba recorded an increase of 279 percent compared to the elapsed plan (2016-2020), where more than 818 million dinars were proposed for basic equipment, and more than 447 million dinars for collective equipment, among the proposals of the development plan project. The tripartite period (2023-2025) estimated at more than 1775 million dinars.
Thus, the public proposals in the region, in the two sectors, exceeded 71 percent, which clearly reflects the state’s need for infrastructure and improving the living conditions of residents in its various regions, according to a report of the General Delegate for Regional Development, which was presented during the work of the first regular session of the Special Prosecution of the Regional Council For the year 2022 last week.
The scheme was distributed among basic equipment by 46 percent, collective equipment by 25 percent, followed by agriculture with a rate of more than 17 percent, then laboratory industries by 4 percent, and then non-factory industries.
The scheme project, which was approved during the session, included a number of proposals aimed at improving the standard of living of the residents, and making the state an investment attraction, similar to launching the creation of the Real Estate Agency for housing an area of 374.4 hectares in Basateen, Mornaguia, El Jadeeda and Wadi El Leil. The Hesher roundabout, the completion of 4 bridges, the preparation and refinement of pathways over a length of 126 km, in addition to continuing to juice the irrigated areas within the second phase, with an area of 2,750 hectares.
The proposals also included the continuation of the construction of the covered swimming pool in Manouba, the creation of a sports complex in Wadi Al-Layl, 10 playgrounds, including a rugby field in El-Jadida, and six halls for group and individual sports, as well as the creation of 5 new primary schools, 3 middle schools, and a secondary institute in the Sfax neighborhood and the Boulkbash neighborhood in Douar. Hesher, creating a regional dormitory for vocational training, creating 8 post offices, preparing and expanding 11 centers, creating a disinfection station in Mornaguia, and continuing to implement programs for purification of neighborhoods and rural areas throughout the delegations.
The plan also includes the launch of the implementation of the regional multispecialty hospital, the expansion of the local hospital in Tabarba, the change of its character to a regional one, the development of the intermediate center in El Jadida into a local hospital, the creation of 7 basic health centers, and the preparation and expansion of the Al-Qassab Institute and Al-Razi Hospital.
In the cultural sector, his proposals included the launch of the completion of the cultural complex in Manouba, the creation of an open-air theater in Manouba, El-Jadida and Douar Hicher, the establishment of a public library in El-Jadida, a digital library in Mornaguia, the construction of a regional exhibition and the headquarters of the Public Regional Institute for Music and Dance, and the headquarters of the Center for Dramatic and Performing Arts.
The development plan within this plan, according to the same report, is based on continuing efforts in the field of promoting development in all state delegations, by developing the infrastructure of roads and lanes, modernizing the transport sector, taking care of the production sectors, continuing to modernize the irrigated areas, and preparing industrial areas.
