My comments were taken out of context!

Paris Saint-Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino was surprised by the controversy that arose during the past two days, after confirming that he and French player Kylian Mbappe would stay in Paris 100%, explaining that his statements were taken out of context.

During his interview onPrime VideoAfter the 3-3 draw with Strasbourg, Friday, April 29 in the French League, the Paris Saint-Germain coach said: “I am very tired and it is difficult to explain things, but I am trying to do so .. I only tried to answer the question put to me, Where I was asked about my percentage of continuity with Mbappe, and I said that today it is 100%… I don’t know why they create a story about it.”

He continued, “My statements are always taken out of context. I am very proud and strong and I am no longer interested in these rumours. I focus on the players and my team.. They know the way we work so we have to keep doing that.”

What did Mauricio Pochettino say about Kylian Mbappe’s continuation with Paris Saint-Germain?

Pochettino had spoken, Thursday, April 28, on this subject in the special press conference on the eve of the Strasbourg match, where he was asked about his future and that of Mbappe, and the Argentine coach replied that they would continue with the Paris giant by 100%.

He added, “It’s my feeling today and what I’m picturing.. That’s what I can say now.. Of course it’s football, and you never know what could happen, but when I talk about what I’m thinking today, that’s my answer.”

And the Argentine coach added, regarding Mbappe’s continuation in Paris, after all the news that confirmed his move to Real Madrid next summer: “What I feel today is that he will stay, we cannot know what might happen in football, but this is what I feel.”

He continued, “As far as I am concerned, there are no conversations other than the normal conversations that we have on a daily basis, we have a normal relationship and we communicate well, we continue to work hard because we have a responsibility, thinking about the future of course.”

Pochettino has been in charge of 84 games in all competitions since switching to Princes’ Park last year to date, racking up 54 wins, 12 draws and 15 defeats, averaging 2.15 points per game.

The coach managed to lead Paris Saint-Germain to win the French League title this season, but he could not succeed in the Champions League and the French Cup, as he bid farewell to the European competition from the final price after the loss from Real Madrid (2-3), and he exited the local cup after the loss. On penalties (5-6) against Nice in the round of 16.

Pochettino’s future with PSG remains the subject of speculation, with his contract expiring in June 2023, and some analysts claiming he has failed to make the most of his star-studded squad, and it remains to be seen whether or not he will be able to keep his job next season.
