Cairo – Masrawy:

Al-Ahly club’s lawyer, Mohamed Othman, announced that he had submitted a new complaint to the Attorney General against the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zamalek Club, Mortada Mansour.

Al-Ahly’s lawyer justified the submission of a new complaint against Mortada Mansour, in exclusive statements to Masrawy, saying: “The communication comes as an insult to Mortada Mansour, Chairman of Al-Ahly Club, Mahmoud Al-Khatib.”

Othman concluded his statements by noting that the communication was officially submitted via WhatsApp and e-mail yesterday, Thursday.

Al-Ahly had announced that the Economic Misdemeanors Court, headed by Counselor Sherif Al-Baili, had sentenced the president of Zamalek Club to two years in prison in the two cases brought by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, after the first transgressed, insulted and slandered through the media.

Muhammad Othman, Al-Ahly’s legal advisor, had filed Case No. 3435 of 2021 financial misdemeanour, and case No. 45 of 2022 was economic misdemeanour, and Case No. 3514 of 2021 financial misdemeanour, which was restricted to No. 83 of economic misdemeanour. Today, the court ruled that Mortada Mansour be imprisoned for one year in each case, a fine of ten thousand pounds, and payment of temporary compensation, Mahmoud Al-Khatib, of ten thousand pounds.

Al-Ahly later announced the adaptation of the legal advisor to his club by submitting a new complaint against Mortada Mansour due to a nine-minute and twenty-second video clip recorded by Mortada and broadcast on Wednesday evening, April 27, via his YouTube channel and transmitted by him to some websites, after two rulings were issued in two cases brought by the president Al-Ahly Club against Mortada Mansour, in which the second circuit of the Economic Court headed by Counselor Sherif Al-Baili sentenced him to one year in prison in each case. The verdict was not accepted by the accused, so it was announced on his page.

Al-Ahly explained his new communication by saying: “The video, the subject of the complaint, contained expressions that the club president considered insulting and slanderous against him, and he dealt with matters that would affect the judges who are entrusted with adjudicating in lawsuits that are still pending before the courts. The subject of the complaint involves abuse of Captain Mahmoud Al-Khatib (the victim in these cases), as well as assaulting the judges of the court (issuing the sentence of imprisonment for two years), with insulting words and threats due to the performance of their duties, which represents the crimes of insult, defamation, insulting the judiciary and breaching the position of judges. He was sentenced to prison, and the report will be submitted to the Public Prosecutor within hours, via WhatsApp and e-mail, and submitted on paper after the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
