Today, the session of the Special Prosecution of the Regional Council of Medenine was held under the supervision of the Wali of Medenine, which was devoted to ratifying the regional development plan 2023-2025.
The development plan for the state of Medenine for the period 2023-2025 was presented, which is related to extracting the structural and circumstantial development problems, crystallizing the future vision, drawing the main strategic axes of development in the region, determining the cost of the proposed programs and projects and categorizing them according to the specific objectives of the development strategy, according to the sector, degree of maturity and character, as well as estimating the cost of private investment for the period 2023 -2025 and the accompanying measures necessary for the successful development of the development action plan, according to what Walid Triki, the local director of development in Medenine, told Shams FM correspondent in the region.
The preparation of this scheme, according to the same source, was based on:
– The work of the work teams that, in the light of their study of the reports emanating from the local development councils and the regional technical administrations and departments, took charge of controlling the structural and circumstantial development problems and drawing up the future vision and the main strategic axes of the development action plan for the next three years, in accordance with the general framework document and the methodology for preparing the plan at the level of the entities of the Ministry of Economy and Planning,
– The initial version of the Tunisia 2035 Guidance Document,
– The document of urgent measures to revitalize the economy issued by the Ministry of Economy and Planning at the level of its four axes and related to supporting liquidity, facilitating the access of institutions to financing, revitalizing investment, facilitating the legal and regulatory framework for the business climate, and simplifying procedures to boost exports,

– Reports and studies completed on the region, foremost of which is the regional plan for environment and sustainable development, which was prepared in cooperation with the German Cooperation Agency for Development, and the strategic study on regional development planning in the south carried out within the framework of Tunisian-Japanese cooperation with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency,

According to the regional director of development in Medenine, the development plan for the state of Medenine for the period 2023-2025 was prepared according to a participatory approach, where about 826 participants participated in the work of the local development councils, work teams and the Financial Planning Committee, and the participation of representatives from the public sector, the private sector and national organizations (the regional union of labor and the regional union of agriculture Fishing, the Federation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts) and civil society.
The number of participants is distributed as follows:
-650 participants and participation in the public sector, or 79%
-45 participants and participation in the private sector, i.e. 5%
-77 participants and participation from civil society, or 9%
-54 participants representing national organizations, or 7%
Knowing that the percentage of women’s contribution was in the range of 16%.
The future vision for development in the state of Medenine, as envisioned by the participants in the work of the local councils for development and the work teams that prepared the development plan 2023-2025, is represented in:

The future outlook for development reflects the aspirations and expectations of the citizens of the state of Medenine in the medium and long term and aims to change their current reality and launch a new development path that guarantees the highest levels of sustainable growth, opens up wider horizons for employment, enables the achievement of integration, social well-being and balance between the delegations, raises the regional development index to the best levels and enhances the openness of the region on its regional, national and international surroundings.
The total volume of investments in the development plan for the state of Medenine for the period 2023-2025 is about 2,986 million dinars, of which 086 million dinars are for the public sector, without considering programs and projects that are not distributed regionally, and 900 million dinars to the private sector.
This distribution shows the role entrusted to the public sector in materializing the main objective of the plan related to raising the regional development indicator for the state to a better level, which helps reduce disparities between regions and provide an appropriate environment for investment, production and employment, according to the same source.
