The Saudi Al-Taawun club, which includes Mustafa Fathi, was bid farewell to the AFC Champions League after falling to Uzbekistan’s Pakhtakor 5-4 after a marathon match.
The Saudi Al-Taawoun match against Pakhtakor was held at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in the sixth and final round of Group D in the AFC Champions League.
Mustafa Fathi starred in the match and made 3 goals for Al-Taawon Club, but the Saudi team did not succeed in ensuring qualification for the next round after losing five goals to four against Pakhtakor.
Al-Taawoun’s balance stopped at the 7th point in second place in the fourth group standings, to officially bid farewell to the Asian Championship, knowing that Al-Duhail Qatar qualified as the leader of this group with 15 points.

Al-Taawoun ranked fourth in the best seconds after collecting only 7 points, equal to Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, to bid farewell to the Champions League, while it rose as the best seconds of Al-Rayyan of Qatar, Shabab Al-Ahly of the United Arab Emirates, and Nasf Qureshi of the Uzbekistan.
In the 13th minute, Al-Taawoun managed to open the scoring early against Pakhtakor through Yazid Al-Bakr after a wonderful cross from Mustafa Fathi, so the Saudi team advanced 1-0.
Pakhtakor equalized in the 22nd minute against Al-Taawoun, making the score 1-1.
Pakhtakor turned the table on Saudi Al-Taawon after he scored the second goal in the 31st minute, to take the Uzbek team 2-1.
After only two minutes, specifically in the 33rd minute, Pakhtakor quickly scored the third goal, to turn the score to 3-1, and the cooperation becomes in a very difficult situation.
And the first half of the match ended with Pakhtakor’s superiority over Saudi Al-Taawun by three goals to one in the AFC Champions League.
And in the 51st minute, Al-Taawoun reduced the score by scoring the second goal through Samihan Al-Nabet after a wonderful pass from Mustafa Fathi, making the score 3-2 in favor of Pakhtakor.
Al-Taawoun managed to equalize and score the third goal through Samihan Al-Nabit, the owner of the double, after a distinguished cross from the brilliant Mustafa Fathi, the owner of the third assist in the match, to turn the score to 3-3.
Pakhtakor returned to the lead again after scoring the fourth goal in the Al-Taawoun net in the 78th minute, leaving Al-Taawoun 4-3 behind.
Al-Taawoun tied in the 83rd minute through Hassan Al-Omari from a penalty kick, making the score 4-4.
The match became more exciting in the last minutes, as Pakhtakor scored the fifth goal against Al-Taawon, which turned the score to 5-4 in favor of the Uzbek team.
The exciting match ended with Saudi Al Taawun losing 5-4 against Pakhtakor, thus ending their AFC Champions League campaign.
